We trim to give a "widescreen" style border. This is slightly larger at the top and bottom than at the sides.
Some images such as album covers (which are square as opposed to rectangular) are naturally smaller. To compensate on such images we leave 3" extra borders at the top and bottom so that the final print is portrait shaped.
We advise waiting until your print arrives before choosing a frame wherever possible. This is because the exact dimensions of our prints vary depending on image size, which in turn dictates how we trim.
In our experience light wooden frames set the papers' textures off just right.
